introducing youth aerial Circus Classes
We are thrilled to be offering aerials for 7-10 year olds! These hour long classes are a perfect way to introduce kids to the joy, and physical activity, of aerial circus. Join us on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons from 4-5pm to learn how to use aerial silks, hoop, hammock and more! Only $135 for eights weeks. Register quickly as these classes will fill up.
Your young one prefer to stay grounded?
Halifax Circus offers an hour long introduction to juggling and circus skills on Saturday mornings. Students will learn object manipulation (juggling clubs, scarves, balls, diablos and devil sticks) and balance (unicycle, tight rope, rolabola). Everyone works at their own pace with attention given to strengths and interests. This class runs 8 weeks starting on January 14 and costs $135. Ages 5-7 at 10am and the 8-10 year olds are in at 11am.
handstands and core
Alex will be running a weekly, hour long handstand and core conditioning class on Monday evenings. He'll run you through your paces to keep yourself safe and healthy while practicing handstands and working on your core strength. 8 weeks, 8 hours, $135, clear results. Take your circus to a new level.
Where to Find Us
Halifax Circus, located in downtown Halifax, is a non-profit cooperative of professional circus artists and teachers. In 2015 we celebrated out 10th Anniversary with a series of special shows, new classes and workshops, and guest performers.
Our teachers have performed with the Cirque du Soleil and Ringling Brothers, and taught and performed at festivals in Singapore, Europe, India, the U.S., Africa, Mexico, the Yukon and across Canada. Check out our classes and be part of the excitement of our 10th year at Halifax Circus.
We have a threefold mission: to practice and perform circus work at the highest level, to teach those skills to students at our school, and to work with youth at risk through our social circus initiatives.
