NOW REGISTERING MARCH 11 - MAY 5
CHECK OUT OUR NEW CLASSES!
SUNDAY 7PM - 8:30PM Mike Hirschbach
How do you create a character, or develop an initial idea through to a finished performance piece? What do you do if something goes wrong on stage (as it will), & hold the audiences attention from the moment you walk on stage?
Each 8-week session will focus on a different aspect of performance, & though no previous experience is necessary, students should be prepared to work towards becoming stronger performers.
MIXED LEVEL AERIAL PERFORMANCE
WEDNESDAY 8PM - 9:30PM CHENISE HACHÉ
This class is for intermediate and advanced students who are already familiar with some basic moves on silks. It is for any student who wants to get into the nitty gritty of silks theory and technique, build a strong foundation, increase endurance in the air, and learn more complex choreography. This is for students who want to improve performance skills and those who just want a good workout. Get ready to be challenged and be creative!
BASIC ACRO CLASS TIMES ADDED
WITH KYLE SCOTT
WEDNESDAY 6:30PM - 8PM PLUS NEW TIME THURSDAY 5PM - 6:30PM
An introduction to the building blocks of acrobatics; handstands, bridges and cartwheels, and leads to the beginnings of front and back handsprings. This class is a great introduction to movement, regardless of your skill level. Watch skills and fitness develop hand in hand under Kyle's instruction, assuming you’re not afraid of getting a little sweaty.
YOUTH CIRCUS CLASSES
Halifax Circus has expanded its range of child, youth and teen circus! We are overjoyed to offer classes to youth of all ages, experience and fitness levels.
We are thrilled to help foster attitudes of self confidence, body positivity, active lifestyle and curiosity in the next generation of the circus community. Let your family join our family.
Where to find us!
Halifax Circus, located in downtown Halifax, is a non-profit cooperative of professional circus artists and teachers. In 2015 we celebrated out 10th Anniversary with a series of special shows, new classes and workshops, and guest performers.
Our teachers have performed with the Cirque du Soleil and Ringling Brothers, and taught and performed at festivals in Singapore, Hong Kong, Europe, India, the U.S., Alaska, Africa, Mexico, Costa Rica, the Yukon and across Canada. Check out our classes and be part of the excitement at Halifax Circus.
We have a threefold mission: to practice and perform circus work at the highest level, to teach those skills to students at our school, and to work with youth at risk through our social circus initiatives.
